CTuG1 - A 360 Perspective of 340B: Federal, Regulatory, and Litigation Updates
The nearly three decades old 340B program is integral to health centers to receive discounted outpatient prescription drugs. The savings health centers receive historically have allowed health centers to invest in patient care and further the health center mission. However, the 340B program continues facing increasing challenges from manufacturers, prescription benefit managers, and others. This session will provide attendees with a digestible update on the most recent legal, legislative, and federal/state challenges affecting health center participation in 340B. We will also dive into how the Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program, part of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), will impact the 340B program and will provide attendees with actionable steps their health centers can take to optimize their 340B savings in a rapidly changing landscape.
Learning Objectives:
- Apply recent changes in the 340B program landscape to revisit and potentially modify their health center's 340B practices, policies, and procedures.
- Understand important federal and state legislative updates as well as litigation updates, and how they will impact their 340B program.

Pharmacy has been a growing, integral part of health centers and its operations. With the movement of integrating pharmacists more into clinical care and pharmacy making up a larger amount of revenue of the health center budget, understanding the various pharmacy models, how to employ them, and their reimbursement has never been more crucial. Pharmacy has long been associated with the 340B program, and there are more ways to bolster your pharmacy program in addition to the 340B program. Attendees will hear from health center pharmacy experts on how they have grown their pharmacy program over the years, integrating the 340B program, and their plans for the future amidst these uncertain financial times. Speakers will focus on how they chose certain delivery methods to meet patient needs while keeping overall finances in mind.
