Session Description: Health center governance is a team effort, with authority vested in the board as a collective. To be effective, board members must understand their governance role and how it differs from management. This interactive session will explore common challenges that arise in health center boardrooms focusing on role clarity. Through real-world scenarios, attendees will work through governance-related tensions and learn strategies for maintaining a governance-focused board.

  • Upon completion, participant will be able to distinguish between governance and management.
  • Upon completion, participant will learn strategies for addressing situations when the line is blurred between governance and management.
