Session Description: Ensuring active board member engagement is essential for effective governance. Community Health Center boards meet monthly and structuring meetings that are productive, meaningful, and encourage board members to remain engaged and involved in strategic conversations and decision-making is key for engagement. This interactive session will provide an opportunity for board members to hear from an experienced board chair and to explore tips for planning and implementing board meetings to support engagement, along with other tools for supporting active board member participation in governance.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participant will be able to explain why board member engagement is important for effective governance.
Upon completion, participant will be able to identify at least two strategies to maximize board member engagement at board meetings.
Upon completion, participant will be able to describe at least one practice for ensuring effective board member engagement.
